Support for adults
If you are concerned about being underweight, there is support available to help you gain weight in a healthy way through the NHS website.
If you have lost weight suddenly, lost weight without changing your diet/exercise routine or you use the control of food to cope with feelings and other situations, please speak with your GP. They can guide you to people and places who can support you.
Support for children and families
While many children who are underweight are healthy, some may need extra support to ensure healthy growth. If you are worried about your child’s weight, speak with your GP or the school nurse. There is also guidance available on the NHS Healthier Families website such as:
